Things To Do in the Area
Minneapolis and St. Paul are pretty interesting cities with a lot going on. We absolutely love living here and try to take advantage of the interesting mix of things to do around the cities. We've made a list of some our favorite things in the area that are available in the fall as well as a few great websites to let you know what's going on in town. If you're still looking for things to do after checking out those sites, let us know -- we're always happy to recommend fun things to do here.

    Our favorite things to do:

  • The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden at the Walker Art Center
  • The chain of lakes, several lakes, parks, and gardens within the city of Minneapolis.
  • Comedy Sportz and Brave New Workshop, two of our favorite comedy performances, along with lots of other great theaters that you can ask us about.
  • Calhoun Square and the general Uptown area, the young and trendy neighborhood in Minneapolis
  • Downtown St. Paul, including the Science Museum, the Children's Museum, Rice Park, Landmark Center, and several other things that are probably not exactly tourist attractions!
  • Also in downtown St. Paul is the Fitzgerald Theater, where A Prairie Home Companion is recorded.
  • Of course, the Mall of America in Bloomington, right by the airport.

    Good websites to check out:

  • The city of Minneapolis' leisure guide
  • The city of St. Paul has one too
  • Twincities.citysearch.com is our favorite place to look, and their guide to top 10 restaurants is particularly good.
  • The Minneapolis paper, the Star Tribune, and the St. Paul paper, the Pioneer Press
  • I Love St. Paul is probably the best St. Paul guide
  • minneapolis.org is probably the best for Minneapolis
  • and City Pages a news and arts weekly
  • Explore Minnesota -- the tourism website
  • and if this list alone has worn you out, you can just take a photo tour of Minneapolis

Gonna be here on Friday, October 8?
If you're going to be in town the evening before our wedding and you're looking for something to do, our friend Matt will be heading up some form of group activity, most likely involving being loud and obnoxious at the Mall of America. If you'd like more information,
    email Matt directly.
